Privacy notice

Updated November 2, 2026

DOTA2 REPLAY is maintained by yuzhou. This notice explains what information is processed when you use the site, why it is used, and how you can manage it.

Local replay files

Your browser decompresses and parses the local replay or compressed file you choose. It is not uploaded to this website or the download service. Parsed replay data stays in this page’s memory and must be reloaded after refreshing or closing the page.

Match lookups and downloads

When you enter a match ID or open a shared link, the browser asks OpenDota for the replay URL and this website for a short-lived download ticket. It then downloads the compressed replay from Valve through a Cloudflare Worker and decompresses and parses it on your device. The website server only issues tickets; it does not receive or relay replay files. The download service does not retain replays long term.

Query results are cached briefly in the current browser page’s memory to reduce repeated requests. Reloading or closing the page clears them.

Steam sign-in and My matches

Signing in with Steam is optional and takes place on Steam’s website. We receive your verified Steam ID and derive the corresponding Dota 2 account ID. We do not receive your Steam password.

When you use My matches, your browser sends the signed-in account ID directly to OpenDota to retrieve the nickname, registered player name, avatar URL, rank, leaderboard position, Dota Plus status, and match history. Results are cached in memory on the current page. Your browser loads avatars from Steam’s image service.

Cookies and browser storage

The language selector records a language cookie that lasts one year; the URL path determines the page language. The Steam sign-in verification cookie lasts up to 10 minutes. The session cookie lasts up to 30 days and is cleared when you sign out.

Volume settings are saved in your browser’s local storage. Maps, models, icons, and other static resources may be cached in your browser to reduce repeated downloads. These settings and caches remain until you clear site data, the browser reclaims storage, or resources are updated.

The current application does not include advertising trackers or third-party behavioral analytics scripts.

Share link

Shared links contain the match ID and any timestamp or segment range you select. They do not contain your local replay file or Steam sign-in credentials. Anyone with the link can see these parameters and try to watch the match if its replay is available.

External services and access logs

When you visit the site, load assets, or use external services, the relevant hosting, network, and service providers receive the IP address, request path, and browser request headers needed to fulfill the request. They may keep access or error logs according to their configuration. Retention periods depend on each service’s settings and policies.

Steam, Valve, OpenDota and Cloudflare handle the information they receive under their own privacy policies. Using local replays alone does not require Steam login or queries for personal match history.

Your choices

You can sign out from My matches or clear this site’s cookies, local storage, and caches in your browser settings. After clearing them, you may need to sign in again, reset your preferences, or download assets again. This does not delete data already held by Steam, OpenDota, or other external services.
